A Fine Arts graduate in Creative and Professional Writing at the Queensland University of Technology, Aalia has two internships under her belt. Having worked at Style Magazine and Queensland Magazines, she has experience in both writing and editing, along with additional design, sub-editing, and proofing skills.

Aalia grew up in Harare, Zimbabwe and has always used her native land as inspiration in her fictional works. She primarily writes for literary fiction, using straightforward prose and linear storytelling to explore racial, gender, and religious themes. Her works focus on the female, Muslim narrative and she has been published in Entropy Magazine, PASTEL Magazine, Style Magazine, and Queensland Magazines.
